Today we drove the very long (about 330km) journey from Mandawa back to Delhi. It took about six and a half hours, mainly because it was single track roads for much of the way, and there were loads of roadworks.
Indian roadworks are rather odd, as there is usually no warning, they just close the road and you get diverted onto a dirt track. Heaven help you if you are in a small car, as you will be scraping rocks, bumps etc with your exhaust every step of the way!
When we got to Delhi, we visited the National Railway Museum – it was one of the places Ruth really wanted to go, so we had asked if it was possible.
Now I know nothing about trains, wargaming is my thing, whilst Ruth is the railway buff. So all I can say now is, here are some nice photos of trains!
Early night tonight, as tomorrow we catch the 7.20 train from Delhi to Amristar, deep into the Punjab. The Golden Temple awaits.
