Words fail me….but more of that later….!
First things first, today we met our new driver (Sushil), who will stay with us until we return to Delhi. Veejay is off to a wedding, which will be three days of celebrations.
Sushil is one of the most requested drivers on tours organised by Swastik, and is often mentioned in reviews. He has been a driver for 17 years, and knows all the tricks of the trade. All of the drivers really do look after you, and are happy to take you to places not on the itinery.
Our guide for the next two days also joined us, and it took about four hours to get from Delhi to Agra, the traffic thinning the further away we got from Delhi. The expressways aren’t particularly busy, and there are plenty of service station stops. We stopped at one such place where we were able to get Chai, which was 10 Rp each….about 12 pence.
We checked into our hotel, the Ramada Plaza, which is a level above our hotel in Delhi, then we were off for lunch…..today we thought we would eat lighter, surely a thalli costing about four quid couldn’t be too big…..hmmm…..how wrong can you be, it was huge!
After lunch, there was only one thing we really needed to do in Agra….so I will leave it at that, as I have nothing else to say, and let the images speak for themselves…though they really do not do it justice…
